For decades the news and information most people depended upon came from the magazines of the Time-Life empire. Time gave short descriptions of the important developments in politics, business, education, art, science, sports, religion, cinema and much more. Life printed the images made by a group of great photographers that visualized the world. Before television and later the internet took over Time magazine dominated the news market and Life published the iconic images people would never forget. A worldwide ad campaign targeted the curiosity and ambitions of the young: ‘Are you able to distill from the barrage of words what is meaningful and significant? Are you really on top of the news? Time is an ever-fascinating chronicle of our changing world. I hope you will not want to be without TIME any longer!’ And the large format Life magazine promised a unique experience: ‘Life is color, people, excitement, information, entertainment, food for thought and a feast for the eye. Life lifts you from your armchair to see the world. Yours unforgettably in LIFE!’  

Back copies of Time and Life are for sale on cover-in-history, mostly in near mint condition and often without the labels that ruin the collector’s fun. Furthermore you’ll find a lot of items related to the Time-Life company and the ads that tried to seduce the news-hungry reader.
